Mr. Ybarra's Class

We'd like to welcome you to our website and to Mulberry Elementary School. We have a terrific school that offers many different programs designed to help all of our students succeed. Everyone on staff takes a personal investment in delivering the best education, with an unwavering sense of dedication.

The students of Room 16 are proud members of this family, just as I am proud to be their teacher. Together, we learn from each other, grow academically, work cooperatively to achieve our individual goals and even manage to have a little fun along the way. If you're new to our website, or just revisiting, we'd like to encourage you to look around to see all of the wonderful things we have to offer and discover just a few of the reasons why Mulberry Elementary School is such a great campus.

Explore the pages and links on our site. They are designed to serve three individual purposes:

·         Explain or enhance our curriculum-

With these types of pages we can, not only answer some of the questions our students and their parents may have about our curriculum, but also extend learning to anytime and anywhere. On these pages you may find information on lessons and objectives, access worksheets, forms and even curricular resources

·         Resource pages for students and adults-

For students this may mean curricular based resources that will help our students understand the lessons they were taught and may aid them in future projects. Educational games and online links are also available. I've also tried to include an assortment of various resource pages; these have been included to be useful for parents/guardians who are looking for ways to help their child answer some of their questions with valuable resources.

·         Student work and classroom news-

Primarily for the students and their parents, but available for all who visit, these pages are meant to display my students' work and celebrate their successes throughout the year. Of course, any of the work that is displayed is with proper consent and will also highlight some of the activities and programs going on in our classroom.

Do you have any health concerns about starting the new school year?
The school district is promoting frequent hand-washing among students and staff to maintain a high degree of personal hygiene.  We also are making sure that all schools have the basic supplies necessary to help students and staff keep their hands clean.
Parents can assist in this effort.  If you or your child exhibit flu-like symptoms, including headache, tiredness, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, or diarrhea and vomiting, it’s very important that you stay at home, to prevent spreading the disease to others.  Seek further medical assistance, if needed. If you have further questions, please contact your school principal.

What is a Webquest?
Good Question. These were originally designed by Bernie Dodge in 1995. Webquests are internet-based activities that are designed for students. Most webquests contain five sections (Introduction, Task, Resources, Process, Evaluation, and Conclusion) and will even provide the links where students may find trusted and reliable answers to complete thier projects.
The reason for this is that the student reduces the amount of research time and can focus more on his/her objectives.
Most of the students seem to enjoy completing these projects. The webquests on this site are meant for group assignments, for this reason, our PC Lab can be opened (upon request) for those students who wish to continue working on these quests, or for those who may not have Internet access at home.
